Director of Simulations at Hyperloop One

The Director of Simulations, will be part of the Autonomous Software Division. This team develops the systems and software simulations (both in the physical and virtual world) for how the Hyperloop One transport system operates. The director will work closely with the Autonomous Hardware, Machine Learning and Analytics, and Core Systems teams. The team ensures design of reliable and scalable simulations.


  • Lead the development of simulation algorithms, models and systems.
  • Develop the overall architecture and infrastructure for simulation development (both hardware and software)
  • Leverage best practices in ADAS and rail systems.
  • Hire and manage the Simulation team and ensure the development ties directly with real world situations.
  • Engage with the multiple divisions within Hyperloop One to implement a digital double of our Hyperloop One transportation system.

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Robotics, Automation or equivalent 
  • Expert in C/C++/Python, with strong knowledge in computer vision, image processing and OpenCV.
  • 3 years of experience using modeling and simulation or game engine environments, such as Unity3d, Unreal, CryEngine, Havok, OneSAF Simulation, for test development.
  • 5 years of experience managing a high-performance software development organization.


  • PhD or MS in Robotics, ECE, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
  • Familiarity with Geographic or Geospatial Data, GIS, CTDB for scene creation from real world data.
  • Experience using C/C++, MATLAB, Python or other programming language.
  • Experience in system integration and real world systems.
  • Expertise implementing perception algorithms and deploying simulations on real-world systems.
